Knowing how to respec ability points in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is important. Unless you were chasing the perfect endgame build from the start, chances are you've spent ability points on signs, alchemy skills, and combat moves that didn't prove that useful after a while. Since ability points are scarce and Geralt levels slowly (you're unlikely to get anywhere near max level in your first playthrough), it's best to respec from time to time.

To respec in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt , you need to consume Potion of Clearance, which resets your ability points (aka the skill points obtained by leveling up and discovering Places of Power). From level 30 onward, there's a very small chance of finding such a potion in a chest , and you also receive one for free upon starting New Game Plus .
